When I stayed in a hotel near the Grand Canyon, I knew this is the first day of my vacation. So I would fully enjoy myself in this short trip. I enjoyed a delicious breakfast and then I was picked up at 8:30 am in front of my hotel by our tour bus. I bought some souvenirs at the gift shop, and almost every gift has the logo of the Grand Canyon. And then we had a flight tour by a helicopter. I also brought a tourism brochure, which was really helpful. It provided tourists with plenty of information and would be a good map of your travels. Though it was $23 dollars, it was worthwhile.
When I sat on my seat, I could feel how close the canyon was. The helicopter made me very exciting, and I kept on taking photos of the great scenery. When we finally landed on the base of the canyon, we carried the waterproof bags which were provided by the base.
We began our river exploration. I was deeply impressed by the canyon walls. When I took some rock formations, one tour guide told me that they were 2 billion years old. Nature is really fantastic. Next, I saw many different types of rocks, lava and plates. The tour guide had done a good job. They explained the canyon geology and told us the history of the canyon which we had explored since the Powell Expedition in 1869. I think I have never known that history is as interesting as movies. Though I have taken photos to memorize this amazing tour, I would like to visit it once more in the future. I will come back in the rest of my life!
